Attached to this communication is a link to a site that will help explain the recent NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association) testing that your students have been completing and that teachers will continue to utilize. More than 9 million students use this tool 3 times annually throughout the country, and some states have actually adopted NWEA as their official state test measurement test. NWEA is now in partnership with programs of various varieties, such as Kahn Academy and IXL for both remediation and advancement, which both we have at TAUSD. To have normed data means to understand general student, school, regional, and national progress comparisons. This also erases the 3 year gaps we have in some areas and grade levels.
